I just read a piece by Samantha Grove on the subject , and it inspired me to raise the question as well: is it true that you only find love when you stop looking?
My intention is not to write an answer to her story, but to open a dialog with the opinions she expressed; and through the exercise of writing, also figure out what I think about the subject myself.
If we want good friends, we say yes to brunch. If we want to lose weight, we eat less cake or try to. Why should relationships be any different? If you want one, go get one. I agree with Samantha here. If a relationship is what you want, act like it. Go out, meet people, ask someone for their phone number. And call them. If having a long-term relationship is one of your values, then make an effort to project it to the world.

Fall in love with someone who pokes a little fun at your mistakes then apologizes afterward with a sweet kiss on your cheeks.
